What About My Kids?

Fishcreek Church of the Nazarene values children of all ages and believes that God can communicate with kids in life changing ways!  Your children will hear great stories about Jesus' life and about His love for them.  Jesus desires that our children learn to trust Him, to come to love Him, and to become His followers.  Today's children will change tomorrow's world!  We simply want to equip them for the task.

The children's department at Fishcreek is known as Club 252....growing kids in wisdom, faith, and friendship.  Luke 2:52 tells us that Jesus grew in wisdom, stature, and in favor with God and man.  We desire that our kids grow the same way!

Club 252 has a class for every child!

Naz Babies - Newborn to 36 month old children

Naz Juniors - 3 year olds through Kindergarten

Naz Kidz - 1st - 3rd graders

Naz Crew - 4th - 6th graders

The following are the opportunities for Naz Babies and Naz Juniors:

  *  Sunday Mornings - Naz Babies and Naz Juniors can be brought to the Nursery Welcome Desk where you will be greeted by one of our dedicated workers.  They will get you checked in with a beeper that you will keep with you.  The chidren play and learn during both the Sunday School hour and the Worship hour.  Our volunteers have all received background checks and are dedicated to loving your child and teaching them about Jesus.

The following are the opportunities for Naz Kidz and Naz Crew:

  • Sunday School is provided at 9:30 A.M. each Sunday.  The children enter Club 252 and they take ownership.  They place their belongings in the Club Closet and then head over to join their friends.  They might play games, make bracelets, read a book, or visit the Club Store, all while singing to their favorite worship songs that are playing.  At the Club Store they can receive stamps for bringing their Bible, bringing offering, reciting a memory verse, or bringing a friend.  They can also buy fun items at the store using the stamps they have earned.  We then all come together for a time of worship and prayer around our altar.  Next, we study fundamental truths of the Bible.  Examples of things we might study are the books of the Bible, the armor of God, the Beatitudes, the Fruits of the Spirit, or the Lord's Prayer.  We end our time with a visit to the Club Cafe for some snacks.  The kids then all head up to the sanctuary for church.
  • Children's Church begins after we have worshipped and prayed with our families.  We head back down to Club 252.  Naz Kidz and Naz Crew go into their separate classrooms for more direct Bible teaching from their teachers.
  • Wednesday evenings, September through May, offer a delightful Christian Camping program called "Caravan."  Beginning at 6:30 and concluding at 8:00 P.M. the children will accomplish various activity requirements and learn many life skills in a context of a Christian world view.  For each activity focus the children will earn a "badge" if they have completed the required tasks.  Caravan also offers seasonal activities such as a Fall Camp-out, badge ceremonies, Pinewood Derby, a Dinner and Talent Show, and even an all-nighter at the church!
  • Wednesday evenings, May through September, are titled Wet n Wacky Wednesdays. These evenings are always filled with solid Bible study, snacks, games, and usually WATER!
  • Other opportunites throughout the year:  Bible Quizzing study and competition, Upward Basketball and Cheerleading, Easter Egg Event (including an egg hunt), Vacation Bible School, Fall Festivals, Christmas Musicals, and lots more!

The children's ministers at Fishcreek, are committed to showing Christ's love to every child participating in any or all of the ministry opportunities of our church.  You and your children will be loved!
