The Caravan scouting journey takes place each Wednesday evening (during the school year) at Fishcreek Nazarene Worship Center.  Under the direction of an adult guide and helpers, children learn skills and abilities to help them develop as God planned -- physically, socially, mentally, and spiritually.  Each child's journey and accomplishment is marked by earning badges that are displayed on their official Caravan uniform. 

Caravan was started by the Church of the Nazarene in 1946.  While the uniform, badges, and other aspects of Caravan have changed over the years, the purpose hasn't changed.  Caravan is still designed to minister to the whole child -- physically, socially, mentally, and spiritually.  Caravan finds its purpose from Luke 2:52 -- "And Jesus increased in wisdom [mentally] and stature [physically], and in favor with God [spiritually] and man [socially]."

The Nazarene Caravan Program is:

• A Christian organization for children from age four through grade six.
• A quality program that includes aspects of both a club and a scouting type organization -- membership requirements, special signs and group pledges, badges, advancement with opportunities to earn top awards, and weekly meetings.  We also have a yearly camping trip and Pinewood Derby.
• A noncompetitive program that teaches children new skills and encourages the development of a wide range of interests and abilities.
• A club-type program that helps children build friendships, develop social skills, accept responsibility, and complete assigned tasks.  
• A program through which children learn what the Church of the Nazarene believes.
