Statement of Values
This statement of values reflects the constant, passionate, biblical core
beliefs that drive the ministries of the Fishcreek Worship Center.
- We value Dependence on God
This includes being God-centered, Spirit-led, and faith-driven as
we join God in what He is doing.
"I am the vine; you are the branches.
If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me
you can do nothing." John
15:5
- We value the Application of Scripture
This includes the Word of God as our source of truth and hope,
the foundation for all preaching and teaching, practical application, and
personal and relational ethics.
"All scripture is God-breathed and is useful
for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that
the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2
Timothy 3:16-17
- We value a Commitment to Prayer
This includes the belief that as we intimately commune with God,
He answers our prayers and His power is revealed.
"The prayer of a righteous man is powerful
and effective." James 5:16
- We value Authentic Worship
This includes encountering God in corporate or private settings
as we celebrate who He is and what He has done for us.
"Ascribe to the Lord, O families of nations,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength, ascribe to the Lord the glory due
his name. Bring an offering and come before him; worship the Lord in
the splendor of his holiness." 1 Chronicles 16:28-29
- We value the Development of Disciples
This includes nurturing believers in Christ-likeness and
Spirit-fullness.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
The second is love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment
greater than these." Mark 12:30-31 "For God did not call us to
be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, he who rejects this
instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit. "
1 Thessalonians 4:7-8
- We value Biblical Community
This includes oneness in Christ, unity, forgiveness, acceptance,
respect, fellowship, loving relationships, support, hope and accountability.
"I have given them the glory that you gave
me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me.
May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me
and have loved them even as you have loved me." John 17:22-23
(Colossians 3:12-17, Acts 2:44-46)
- We value Team Ministry
This includes spiritual gift development, training, equipping,
teamwork and involving every member in ministry.
"Each one shoud use whatever gift he has
received to serve others. " 1 Peter 4:10 (Romans 12:4-8)
- We value Sharing Christ with the Unchurched
This includes the Great Commission, outreach to non-Christians
and unchurched Christians, a passion for the lost, relational evangelism,
cultural relevance and seeker sensitivity.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. "
Matthew 28:19-20
- We value Building God's Kingdom
This includes local missions, world missions, raising up
ministers, sending missionaries, helping other churches and giving away what
God has given to us.
"Freely you have received, freely give."
Matthew 10:8b
